You know I love a good bucket list and with that comes, and right up there are new year’s resolutions. I’m still working on my list but lately, I’ve been hearing of people who decide on one word as a theme for the year ahead and I couldn’t help but be drawn to that. Especially since I can never pick just one of anything – ask me for a “favorite” of fill-in-the-blank and you’re likely to get 7 different answers each qualified with the circumstances for when the answer is a favorite. So just settling on one of something is hard for me.
When I thought of “light”, I was considering it in all of its forms. I could use a little lightness of spirit – the past couple of months seemed to be so full of all kinds of things going on, that I could definitely lighten the load a little bit. Feel a little lighter, actually be a little lighter, pack a little lighter, schedule a little lighter, take things to heart a little more lightly… By being lighter in all of those things, I think I could make some more room for things that actually deserve to take up more space.
And there’s also light in its more traditional sense. I see things and remember things with a lot of light in them but that doesn’t seem to come across as much as I would like when I see my own descriptions – or for me, more importantly, when I see my own pictures. So working on having those align more is also at the top of my list – I feel lucky to have so many lights in my life, I just want to do them justice.
So there you have it – 2013 will be all about light – what will it be for you?
