Just because it’s quiet on the blog doesn’t mean it hasn’t been busy. Work is consuming and so is setting up life all over again but I try to make my weekends about my kids as much as possible. We usually have some potpourri of birthday parties to attend (my daughter is squarely on the circuit now, that’s an adjustment for me!), friends to reconnect with and errands to run. Most weekends we’re usually three for three, which means we’re 0 for a million in things like unpacking or getting groceries on time.
Still, the fall has been a beautiful one and a couple of weekends ago we headed out to Butler’s Orchard for the pumpkin festival. Pumpkins and sunshine and all things fall…except for it was close to 75 degrees…so that frozen apple cider slushie they were serving up at the general store pretty much tasted like the best thing I’ve ever had that day.
The lovely weather has been downright disorienting after three dark and rainy falls in Denmark (not that I’m complaining, I’m just mildly confused). I could use a little hygge right now but we’re getting there – plus the excess Vitamin D is a welcome change.
Butler’s is great with kids and close to the city btw compared to some of the farms, and based on where we live it was pretty much a straight shot up. So something tells me we’ll be back when they open up the festival days again to get your holiday trees – hope it won’t be too cold for slushies by then!
