Since I haven’t gotten to writing up Norway on the blog just yet (either trip! or Morocco or Bahrain or a million other things for that matter), I thought I’d share two little pieces that I did on Norway elsewhere around the web.
First, I did a little piece for Travelettes, a site aimed at travel stories and guidance and vignettes for female travelers (although, honestly, the best stories apply to every one) about the benefits of off-season travel. We went to Bergen twice and loved it but each time in a different way. And I have to say, going in December, when it was quiet (and okay, a bit cold), meant that I could see a few things I would have other wise missed. Check out the Benefits of Off-Season Travel here!
The second piece was for Outdoor Families Magazine. Now, if you have ever known me in real life, you might chuckle at the thought of me having something to contribute for an outdoors magazine (even though I have always appreciated fresh air and natural beauty and green spaces – a little credit please!). But our time in Denmark, and specifically my daughter’s forest school (have you been following along on A Toddler in the Trees?) have really made us think differently about how we incorporate the outdoors and my daughter’s need for it into our time as a family when we travel. Here’s a little piece about the magic of Bergen’s Troll Forest and not missing out on hikes just because you have little ones in tow!
More to come on Norway and all the other travel destinations soon – plus, we have a few fun trips coming up this month so expect a lot of travel fun! I also have a work trip coming up and some major deadlines (oh that day job!) so I’ll try to get a few good posts up a week but please forgive in advance if we go a little sporadic over the next two weeks. Promise there is more good stuff in the pipeline!
