Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and all the peace of the holiday season! I had hoped to schedule a few posts for this week but it’s been a bit busy around here with a revolving door of houseguests, a full calendar of birthdays, and all the events and togetherness that the holidays bring. Not that you’ll hear a complaint around here. Since this is our first big unaccompanied holiday, I wanted to make sure it was a special as possible for the children, and with the help of family and friends, I think we were able to deliver. Nothing beats being all together, but if you can’t be, there are lots of things you can do to pass the time (like our 12 Dates of Christmas this year – so far we’ve knocked out 10 out of 12, we’re just missing the boat tour and the gingerbread house since I assume just eating gingerbread cookies doesn’t count).
I’ve been feeling a bit behind on things so to get a chance to catch up, I’ll be off the blog until after the Christmas holiday to take some time to focus on my littles, be present for our family guests, take a quick jaunt to Norway for more holiday spirit and then finally to celebrate here at home. More posts will come soon after that, guaranteed. And in the meantime, wishing you a Christmas week full of joy and peace.
PS – That’s our little “Advent Tree” in our living room…I got it at the beginning of December and kept it bare for the first week, then we added just a few minimal brown decorations the second week, then we added the cinnamon ornaments that we made, then the ribbons and lights, and finally, today added the disco balls for the diplo-tots dance themed birthday party. We also got a separate big tree that we’ll need to decorate with all our visitors. See, I told you we were serious about these holidays!
