We are headed out this week for a few days of calm before the storm so to speak…And also, for a few days of sunshine before this perpetual darkness that seems to set it now before five, and soon by four. This is our third Danish winter (though I copped out a bit on last year’s by high tailing it to Vienna to deliver our child), and by now I know that in order to make the winter something to look forward to and not something to dread, bookending it with a bit of Vitamin D makes a big difference.
So this year, Marrakech! Our first trip and apart from reading a few literary romanticisms (like Sheltering Sky, still my go to on Moroccan adventures even though the characters drove me nuts – someone recommended it to me long ago and it still kind of stuck with me), I pretty new to what to expect. Most of the trip is family oriented, as opposed to tourism oriented, but I’m eager for suggestions on what to do/see/eat, what to be charmed by and what not to be fooled by! So for the Marrakech experts out there, I’m all ears!
