Around Town: Watergate + Kennedy...

We did a little family outing out and about town last week.  On our way to the Kennedy Center for the Nordic Cool exhibits (more on that later), we took a walk around the area, stopping to get a few snaps of the iconic Watergate building...

I've always thought it would be such a DC thing to do, to live in the Watergate building.  Apparently Condalizza Rice thought so to as that's where she kept her digs in DC.  But I've heard the building can have some peculiar maintenance things... Nonetheless, I still think it's about as iconic as DC gets, short of the White House.

Little bits of life were starting to peek through amongst all the winter gray.  Little birds come out to sing; bright colors of some later winter plants...but with today's prognosis for the snowquester, spring seems just a bit further off than I thought.

Hopefully this week will bring the last of the grays and browns - but maybe today we'll be lucky enough to have one final blanket of white?
