Mommy and Me: Root, Root, Root for the Home Team...

This weekend, diplo-tot and capped off our Saturday night with a date to Opera and the Outfield - have you ever been? Basically it's a fun twist on what places like the Vienna Opera and the Met starting to do by simulcasting big opera performances for free in a public space, but for DC, that space is at the Nationals Stadium.  Not only that, you can sit on the actual field.  Pretty cool in my book - does it get more exotic america than that? And that grass? It's perfect.  I don't think I've ever seen such a manicured lawn.  And they even had hot dogs.

What's more there's is all sorts of excitement around town for the Nationals, as the team qualified for postseason.  (Is that right? Am I saying that right? I say that as if I know what it really means).  During his opening remarks on Saturday, Mayor Gray pointed out that "Opera, like baseball, takes years of training" so I'm assuming this wasn't so easy to get. So to get into the spirit of the game, I thought I'd do some "Mommy and Me" picks to help us root for the home team.  Except for I don't think there are any tickets left.  We might have to root while watching on TV....in a sports bar! ...I think our repatriation might officially be complete.  It's kind of a nice feeling.
