Mommy and me: Picking our Sunday Best...

It's only a couple of days away but I'm still on the fence for a final pick for diplo-baby's Easter Sunday dress.  I had a not-so-brief flirtation about putting us in matching Lilly Pulitizer dresses (no, I'm not above it and remember, the days when your child thinks it's socially acceptable to wear matching....i mean, coordinated...outfits are severely numbered so get it while you can!) - however, two things happened.  One, I couldn't seem to find a pattern that was available in both sizes that was appropriate and two, I realized that New Jersey and NYC (where we'll be spending Easter with family) don't quite go for LP in the same way that say, a Palm Beach might. So we're going to go a little less floral, a little more traditional.  And if we ever live in Palm Beach - though I can't imagine we ever would - rest assured, there will be some matching LP action.

My pick in the middle is pretty solid - except for that it will be a J.Crew dress that I already own that's pretty close to this (just couldn't find a good picture), and just need to finalize for DB.  I realized my two pics came out a bit patriotic in nature with the red, white and blue-ness.  Her new pair of little white shoes from See Kai Run (where we pretty much get all of her shoes - I swear by those - and I think this is the third consecutive size for this white pair) are on the way, we just need a dress - so what do you think? Red or white and blue?

PS - I've about had it up to hear with these weird polyvore formatting things.  I swear it gets kookier everytime I use it.

  1. The blue/white is nice and traditional, safe but the red has some real pazazz .. or she could wear a drindl like our girls ;-)

  2. I'm a bit more formal and traditional in style, especially when it comes to Easter so I say blue & white. The red is cute but looks more like a summer BBQ dress to me. This is from a NYCer in case that's helpful since you mentioned you'll be in the city this weekend; the blue & white feels a little more city-like as well. Also, if it makes you feel better about ordering the same sandals in different sizes, my now-4 year old daughter has only worn one brand of sandals her whole life! I swear by Salt Water Sandals and buy them for every summer and beach vacation in the winter in new sizes. I'm a firm believer in sticking with what you love!
