Time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day – hurrah! I don’t care what the naysayers say, I love Valentine’s Day. Which is funny, because for a long time in life, I didn’t exactly have Valentines lining up outside of my doorstep or anything. But rather than develop all these weird negative associations with it, or spend a lot of time contemplating how it has become too commercialized (it has, so what? don’t buy into that part, buy into the parts you like), I learned to embrace it over the years. There’s something about Valentine’s Day that’s a bit hopeful – you know, you think maybe someone will finally surprise you, maybe they’ll finally notice…People don’t always deliver, but there is always the chance.
And speaking deliver and surprises, how fun would it be to get one of these at your door – complete with a “balloon trooper”, which as far as I can tell is a hip person dressed in sequins? These ginormous hearts are available through Geronimo Ballooons. Known for their size and adornments, this company has really redefined balloons and made them not only cool, but completely whimsical. I don’t think I’m getting one this year, but I’ll still check my front door anyway…just in case.
