So apparently I'm not the only one for finds the Parker Palm Springs iconic. I had known some of the architectural features from magazines or shoots here and there; the hotel also makes the wedding rounds as well but while there it finally hit me where I saw it last - Louis Vuitton's resort collection which came out right around this time last year (although I'm pretty sure that motorcycle picture is actually from the ACE hotel).
Actually while we were there, there was a lingerie shoot going on - on one hand, it's not to reassuring to see a fabulously thin and fabulously buxom Brazilian draping herself nearly everywhere we went. On the other hand, it makes you realize how unfabulous these shoots are for them - she had some kind of newspaper roll constantly being shoved between her bra strap and her back (for additional buxomness I presume), was privy to a steady stream of "this doesn't look good, don't do that, do this" while being made to stand in totally awkward positions, and was often standing on cold cement until she finally insisted on wearing fur lined mocassins with her thong...Some parts of the day it couldn't have been more than 50 degrees out - palm desert or no, it was no weather for just a bra, no matter how lacy.
Our last day, I marched around diplo-baby in a small photo shoot of my own on property but my photos don't do the site anywhere near justice. But these defintely make me want to put on some falsies and a shift dress and check right back in.
