One of my new favorite blogs (and realize I need to update my blog roll list....as well as a lot of other things on the page...add to "to-do" list) since coming back to DC is Capitol Hill Style. Written by a now-former hill staffer who reports on the do's and don't's of dressing for the Hill, for the office, and for life in general. The tone can have an edge, but I'm with her, she calls it like she sees it and there are a lot of people wandering around town who just need to see it.
She made a reference the other day about people who leave the office for work or elsewhere without wearing pants, as well as other notable fashion "facepalms", and mentioned Buzz Feed's handy chart, which of course I had to google immediately. The issue of what passes for pants on young ladies is one close to my heart and we've gotten to the point where diplo-husband can beat me to the punch when I see a suspect candidate and he pre-empts me with "I know, I know, she's not wearing pants". I must say "where are her pants" at least five times a week.
For anyone in doubt of what actually passes for pants, this is a brilliant guide. Please wear pants.

I don't understand the girls that wear leggings as pants. Don't they know you're supposed to wear leggings UNDER something?? i will admit that I wear yoga pants on a regular basis...but I work from home so I figure it's okay. :)
ReplyDeleteOh agree, I too wear my nice yoga pants, even up the street to the store quickly. Leggings, as pants, never!
ReplyDeletePS Come let me know what you think of my Autumn decor....so far!
