Slim, slim, slim Aarons. Perhaps the closest competitor in my affection for a photography print to Massimo Vittali is Slim Aarons, especially of any of his pool and beach pictures. Capturing the late 60’s and 70’s jet set and doyennes in their natural habitats, he might just be one of the original paparazzi’s without actually being a paparazzi. And yes, that’s Capri in that first print.
He’s a self-described photographer of “attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places”, and one look at these saturated blues of skies, pools and oceans has me in agreement. There’s just something about those colors that makes you want to be part of the scene – and especially today as lately we’ve been having some gray skies since our return to the US when really all I want to do is to take advantage of summer.
Chalk a Slim print up to my wish list.
