This time around in Budapest we spent most of our time on the Pest side – you could call it the “new” side, in relative terms, but it’s not exactly spic’n’span new. Buda has the beautiful churches, old town and overlooks, but Pest has a certain city grittiness and is full of art nouveau and 60’s era fonts and signs. Here are a some shots from our walk around town.
The museums in Budapest are countless, and places to eat even more so. The city isn’t quite the steal I remembered it to be during my student days but still a relative bargain to the quality you get, and wines are to die for. Budapest could use a second look from some of the travel magazines for an updated profile but during our couple of years here, the advice in the following articles has been helpful:
