…if you can believe it. I certainly can’t. You’d think that by one month, we would know what we were doing – we don’t. We have the hang of the routine – but the real test will be next week when we bid adieu to diplo-husband’s parents, and I fly totally solo.
Nontheless, the time has flown by. As trite as it sounds, it really does seem like yesterday that we checked into the hospital, and ever since we were handed the little bundle of joy, it seems like someone hit fast forward on the VCR and then threw away the remote (and I realize I just dated myself with a reference to a VCR). All of the sudden, you have a living, breathing, and growing reminder of just how fast time is passing by.
I’ve noticed this week that diplo-baby is already outgrowing her newborn clothes – we’ve mostly graduated to the three month size if we weren’t there already. And I’ve started to become sad that a few favorite pieces will no longer fit no matter how much I convince myself otherwise, and try to pull and squeeze her tiny arms through even tinier arm-holes. One of our favorites, that we received as a gift, was the sherpa bear suit from Carter’s (by the way, the word “sherpa” is used somewhat excessively in infant clothing items, I find this a bit strange since the actual item never resembles something an actual sherpa would wear). I couldn’t bring myself to let it go as she looks so darling in it, and after trying an assortment of searches, I finally found it online. I’ve ordered it in the 3 month and 6 month size to keep us all sherpa-bear’ed up for awhile. Somethings you can hold on to for just a little bit longer….if I had my way, she would probably be wearing this through high school, but I don’t think they make that size.
