In scrolling through the second issue of Rue Magazine, they had a pretty interesting feature on a groovy Christmas taken in what looked like a mid-century Brady Bunch house with some duo called “Girls with Glasses”. The article itself is a bit hard to follow, though the photographs are fantastic – in the end it’s unclear if it’s just for fun, meant to be a guide to having a party, meant to tell you something about the Girls with Glasses, or what.
In any case, what was cool in the article was a holiday playlist put together by The Flashdance, and their “hepcat musical stylings”. Intermingling non-Christmas songs like A Little Less Conversation (by Elvis of course – which we know I love to run to; well, used to love to run to until carrying diplo-baby around slowed me to the pace of a turtle) with some Christmas classics like Vince Guaraldi’s Christmas theme from Peanuts, it makes for a nice let’s decorate the tree and have a nice gluwein kind of night with friends. Best of all, you can listen to and download the entire playlist, among others they’ve created, for free on their site. LA is cool that way.
